The winner of the procurement for the preliminary design of Rail Baltic has been announced

The winner of the procurement for the realisation of the preliminary design for Rail Baltic is a consortium consisting of Reaalprojekt, Hendrikson&Ko, EA Reng and UAB Kelprojektas
The total of three tender were submitted, the price ranging from  7,5-13 Mio euro. The winner’s price was the most advantageous.
The other tenderers were also consortiums. One tender was submitted by the British consulting engineering company Aecom Ltd. And the French concern Systra. Another participant was the Swedish design company Sweco Energuide AB with its Estonian and Lithuanian affiliates and Spanish design company Ineco.
The procurement includes the theme planning along the whole alignment is Estonia, EIA and preliminary design. The procurement had been launched second time. The first procurement announced in October last year was cancelled. Only one valid tender was submitted then and the price turned out too high.
The Rail Baltic project is 50% co-financed  by EU. The completion of the preliminary design is scheduled for 2015.
