
On 27 August 2025 the cornerstone was placed for the first film studio complex in Estonia. It is located in Jõhvi. The film studio complex – or digital and multimedia incubator with studio complex – is a film production facility comprising of two separate studios, each equipped with a full set of auxiliary rooms (from film sets to film editing). The smaller studio can also be used as a public multifunctional universal hall.
The sketch and preliminary design of the complex were designed by Novarc Group, author architect Lauri Laisaar. The contractor Mapri Ehitus has involved the author in further design process.
